LEAH Williamson believes Arsenal Ladies are ready to extend their spectacular winning run and scoop silverware for a 12th successive year next season.

The Gunners beat Notts County 3-0 to win the Continental Cup and make it 11 years without a trophyless campaign.

It was new manager Pedro Martinez Losa’s first trophy, and Williamson is confident there’s more to follow. “The cup win filled him with confidence and gives him a taste of what the team can do together,” she said. “We really showed we’re ready to compete again next season. If we had gone without a trophy this year it would not have been right. It wouldn’t have been the Arsenal way. We have an unbelievable record, one that we want to keep going.”
