NORTH Middlesex suffered a two-wicket defeat away at Twickenham on Saturday.
Captain James Parslow led by example as he top-scored for the visitors with 56 runs. Tej Sheopuri also batted well for 47, while Hassan Khan hit an unbeaten 48 as North Midd scored 205-7 off their allotted 50 overs.
But it was the Twickenham players celebrating following a closely fought chase. Don Manuwelge’s 49 helped them edge to a winning score of 207-8 off 50 overs.
The result leaves North Midd second in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League, eight points behind Crouch End.
Meanwhile, Hampstead lost by 32 runs away at Shepherd’s Bush.
Tom Cox’s knock of 47 helped the home side post a total of 204-7 from their 50 overs. And despite the efforts of Callum Jackson and Beckham Wheeler-Greenall, who hit 34 and 27 runs respectively, Hampstead fell narrowly short in reply as they were bowled out for 172.
