Noise and pollution from these ‘connectivity’ works is unbearable

• G.NETWORK landed on us one day last week, “providing 100 per cent fibre connectivity” to residents in exchange for days of cacophonous, unrelenting, drilling, the level of the sound being off the scale.

“Our customers think we’re excellent” they boast. Well who might these be?

So far we are on the sixth day (including Saturday) of what can only be described as torture and the only thing so far that has been “excellent” is the offensive manner in which G.Network inflict punishment to the auditory and olfactory system.

The diggers are antiquated and beyond noisy and the level of pollution is awful. We have to close all our windows as traffic jams increasingly produce toxic fumes and even with double-glazing the noise is still unbearable.

We tried to complain but sadly the customer service was just as awful and incoherent and a downright joke. Where were these notifications Camden?

We did not see anything at all. It is shameful, depowering, downright depressing.

“Happy families”? G.Network promise. We don’t think so. I am so unhappy, in fact, that I am having to work at 3am because it is the only time that I can focus.

In addition to all this we have the ongoing problems of uneven surfacing of Albany Street especially between the junction at Robert Street and areas surrounding Chester Gate, and the problems of the traffic lights and island that is a complete waste of space; the heavy traffic- namely HS2 / 88 buses have to squeeze between a tiny space on Albany Street where there is a great trough that is being constantly patched, creating too much movement.

Another trough is constantly flooded further towards Robert Street end on Albany Street – it needs a complete resurface – all this constant patchwork has taken its toll and it creates massive trauma for us residents who must suffer awful vibrations, especially in bed at night when heavy vehicles tend to go faster due to lack of traffic. It’s like having a vibration plate going on and off.

So, G.Network, when you patch this road up yet again, as many have done in the past, remember the 100 per cent unhappy ones, the residents and the slaves to progress and profits who were never consulted and must suffer endless nights of shaking and quaking. We do not pay huge council taxes for this.
