• FURTHER to Catherine Von Ruhland’s letter (Problems for girls on bus, March 30) I remember reading this tragic story years ago.

A 10-year-old was short of just two pence of her fare home, she was turfed off the bus and set off on foot in the dark for her home. She was dragged into an alley in Peckham and attacked.

No young girl should be put in danger by being put off a bus.
