A STUNNED squad of seven young athletes enjoyed a night they’ll never forget on Friday when they got the chance to attend the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony.

Highgate Harriers Robel Bahelbi, Gabriel Springer, Lulu Szego, Hannah Viner and Arnold, Linnet and Herbert Mensuoh were given a glimpse of what their future could hold as they enjoyed Danny Boyle’s spectacular extravaganza.

As if that wasn’t enough, the youngsters also got the chance to have their picture taken with a Hollywood star after bumping into British actor Orlando Bloom.

Two more Highgate Harriers got even closer to the action. Amy Cotter led the Armenia team into the stadium, while double Olympic medal winner June Carroll was part of the GB medal contingent  at the lighting of the Olympic flame.
