There was a rise in bullying and harassment concerns from BAME staff

Bosses are ‘incredibly disappointed’ by the results of asking staff for feedback
A MORALE-BOOSTING beano for hundreds of managers is being organised by NHS bosses after an “incredibly disappointing” staff survey.
North Central London Integrated Care Board said the “All Staff Away Day” would help raise spirits after the annual poll of employees.
The poll revealed the “lowest response rate this year” from any ICB in the country and also showed a significant drop-off in numbers of staff who would recommend the ICB as a place of work for their family.
There was a rise in bullying and harassment concerns from BAME staff and a “worsening of the number of staff with a disability feeling pressure to come into work when they do not feel well enough”.
A report to a board meeting said there had been a “significantly worsened staff morale score” and acknowledged there was “a lot more to do, particularly with reference to bullying and harassment for all staff and supporting people to develop both personally and professionally”.
The ICB – which decides how Camden NHS funding is spent – suggest the poor results may have been connected to a “change management programme” that has been under way.
Of the entire 713 staff working across five boroughs including Camden and Islington, 390 responded to the survey.
The trust said it was “not standing still” and the “all-staff away day” would be an “in-person event that will enable our staff to connect with each other, reflect on the experience since the last away day in December 2022 and look forward to starting to deliver on our vision and the improvements we want to make for the benefit of our residents and patients in NCL [North Central London]”.
Acknowledging that the staff survey results were disappointing, it added: “There are however some green shoots, particularly in terms of line management support and team identity that we will continue to build from.”
