New panel will take up the case of Eversholt Street’s closure
Friday, 25th October 2019
• THE Pinner Six are absolutely right about the appalling decision to close Eversholt Street until November 4 (Residents should have been told about Thames Water works’ disruption, October 17), it will cause great problems to disabled and elderly residents and visitors.
How on earth do we (and I am disabled) travel to appointments either for doctors or hospitals or shops? Ward councillors did hear of this nonsensical decision by Thames Water and I have written my objections and will continue to do so.
It is HS2 that is to blame – that part of Euston Station may be altered and I did hear (but don’t know yet if it is so) that shops may be built along the length of the wall facing Eversholt Street.
I am now chair of the new Disability Oversight Panel formed by Camden Council to determine an overall programme covering all concerns and needs of disabled people. And the panel will take this matter up.
The Pinner Six may be unaware of the DOP panel who are having a meeting, as we do every two months, on November 6 from 6pm in the Crowndale Centre.
This item could be raised when we hold the consultation groups in the hall for all those attending, and we are looking for items of problem for disabled people to take up.
CLLR ROGER ROBINSON
Chair, Disability Oversight Panel
