NEW signings Lisa Kline and Sarah Cleary gave Islington Borough Ladies FC supporters a glimpse of what they can expect next season when they combined to score the winning goal against Headstone Manor on Sunday.

Islington couldn’t have asked for a better way to bring the curtain down on their campaign in Division Two North of the Greater London Women’s League as they ran out 1-0 victors at the Douglas Eyre Sports Centre in Walthamstow.

Mid-season transfer from Enfield Town Ladies FC Kline collected a pass from former West Ham and QPR Ladies midfielder Cleary, before coolly tucking away the only goal of the game after just 15 minutes.

Islington captain Chloe Copsey  praised her team’s defending after the final day victory. She said: “We knew Headstone Manor are very dangerous going forward, but our whole back line and keeper did great to keep a clean sheet.”

Manager Steve Fraser is now preparing his team for a number of high-profile summer tourneys and is also looking to strengthen his squad. Anyone interested in attending training can call him on 07712 552364 for details.
