Neighbourhood plan for Dartmouth Park needs to change

Thursday, 23rd January 2020

• I WRITE to express my unease at the content of the Dartmouth Park neighbourhood plan, (Vote could safeguard area’s history, January 16).

It shows little consideration for the urgent need to address the carbon footprint of our buildings and, indeed, attempts to override the national planning guidelines on solar panel installation on houses in conservation areas.

I should also like to see suggestion of a required A/B energy rating for all developments, extensions and renovations within it. With this and other issues in mind, I will not be approving the Dartmouth Park neighbourhood plan.

I suggest that is needs to be redrawn, with the notions of climate emergency and responsible responses prominent in its planning criteria.
