Murder detectives appeal for help after woman is found dead in Camden Town home
Wednesday, 18th June

Jennifer Abbott
MURDER squad detectives have opened an inquiry into the death of a woman found at her home in Camden Town.
Jennifer Abbott was found dead in Mornington Place on Friday evening. Police said a distinctive Rolex watch appeared to be missing.
The 69-year-old – often seen walking her Corgi dog – had suffered stab wounds while a post-mortem found she had died from ‘sharp force trauma’.
Also known by her professional name Sarah Steinberg, the victim had last been seen by neighbours last Tuesday.
While detectives are keeping an open mind about the possible motive for the murder, they are appealing in particular for information about the watch which they believe is missing from Jennifer’s address.
It has a distinctive diamond encrusted face.

Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in Camden, said: “We are working closely with our colleagues in the homicide team to establish exactly what happened and it’s incredibly important that we hear from anyone who may have knowledge about how this awful death occurred.
“Were you out in Camden on Friday? Perhaps you had been coming home from work, or at an event nearby? Did you see or hear anything around Mornington Place that struck you as being unusual?
He added: “Someone must have seen or heard something and no piece of information is too small. It could be the crucial clue that leads us to identify Jennifer’s murderer.
“Extra patrols continue in the area while my officers remain at the crime scene. I would urge anyone who has any information, or who may be worried, to speak to them.”
There have been no arrests at this stage.
Anyone with information is urged to call 101 or message @MetCC on X, giving the reference 6470/13JUN. Information, including photos or videos, can also be easily uploaded to our dedicated appeal page.
