Most children like and many children need to know who their biological parents are

• SPERM donation isn’t always an unadulterated and unequivocal good (Hospital goes to sperm bank for cash, March 23).
Most children like and many children need to know who their biological parents are.
Some countries are now experimenting with de-anonymising donations; some children who learn that they have a biological donor now take steps to track down donors’ identities to satisfy their curiosity or because they develop health issues and want to know their genetic background.
In many cases wanted children bring blessings but when push comes to shove – if a child gets into trouble or becomes trouble – then the lack of a biological connection often tells.
