NEWLY-FORMED football team AFC Islington and Camden continued on the trophy trail on Saturday when they picked up two more pieces of silverware.

Two of the youth club’s under-12s teams went head-to-head in the final of the Totally Goal FC Seven-A-Side Cup, held at Highgate Wood School in Crouch End.

In the end a single strike from forward Albert Hicks proved the difference as AFC Blue (above) defeated their Red counterparts 1-0.

Coach Liton Shah was delighted to see the triumphant club capture their fifth trophy in six weeks.

“The team is gelling together well and playing positive, passing, football  which is largely down to our two young coaches Shaz Anwar and Aklu Miah,” he said. “We’ve still got a few more tournaments lined up so, hopefully, we can continue our winning streak.”

• AFC Islington and Camden are holding sessions at Paradise Park in Mackenzie Road, Holloway, for players aged five to seven years old. Call Liton on 07904 415 791 or email AFCislington andcamden@mail.com for more details.
