THE mini heroes of Hampstead Rugby Club made their best ever start to the county festivals season as they picked up four trophies in a spectacular Sunday showing.
Having stormed into the final, the club’s Under-7s advanced squad shared the honour of being crowned Middlesex RFU champions with Old Grammarians after the two teams could not be separated, even by extra time, in their gripping showpiece.
Hampstead Under-7s development squad were also celebrating after winning the Plate at the same festival, held in Teddington.
Hampstead also had Under-8s teams bidding for glory at a festival in Chiswick.
The development squad won all six of their matches to walk away with the winners’ shield. The advanced squad matched their efforts, beating Rosslyn Park in the final, also to finish as tournament winners.
