Hampstead failed to take points from their mid-table rivals in a rain- interrupted match on Saturday.
After losing the toss, Hampstead went into bat and George Leadbetter made 31 before a break for rain.
Skipper Mark Divin top scored with 90, adding 104 runs with Raoul Colvile (48) as the home side were restricted to 239 all out.
The rain shortened the innings but Finchley made the most of their 43 overs. Divin took two for 43 to give Hampstead hope but the visitors wrapped it up with wickets to spare.
In Divison Two North Midd sit third after taking a point in a losing draw with Brentham on Saturday.
Brentham opened after losing the toss and Luke Budden top scored with 77 as the visitors declared on 216 for eight after 48 overs. Jaron Semper (66) and Adam Holmes (55) hit back as North Midd reached 183 for eight from 46 overs.
