• I HAVE often wondered why issues of the Camden New Journal are neatly stacked in the welcoming lobby of Holmefield Court in Belsize Grove for residents – but there is never anything similar for those in the block next door, Gilling Court.

Now I know. Thursday I saw a pile of CNJs put on the window ledge there. Five minutes later they had gone. I looked in the block bins outside. Sure enough, there was the bundle.

I suppose we should feel sympathy for anyone with such a mean spirit.
