BAIZE battler Mark Batson is just two wins away from capturing one of the most sought-after pieces of silverware in the Chalk Farm Pool League – but it won’t be easy.

The Sir Robert Peel ‘B’ team potter (pictured) will take to the table at the Hurricane Rooms in King’s Cross next month to play team-mate George Larner in the semi-finals of the Seniors Cup.

The winner of the tie, which is set to be played on Monday, March 21, will face either Boston Arms’ Roy Cooper or Boston Rimmers’ Des Murphy in the final.

Cooper is favourite not only to win the final-four encounter, but the entire competition – having been crowned the Seniors’ champion six times in the last seven years.

Meanwhile there were wins for the top three teams in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League on Monday.

Leaders Boston Arms beat Boston Old Skool 6-3, while Sir Robert Peel pocketed a 7-2 win over POW Dynamos.

Third placed King’s Cross Hurricanes, who are just nine points off the pace, kept up the pressure with a 6-3 win over Boston Rimmers.
