Many thanks to the key workers on Hampstead Heath

Friday, 29th May 2020

• I WOULD like to say a big thank you to the key workers on Hampstead Heath.

Over the last few weeks they have spent hours in the mornings, and throughout the day, cleaning up after inconsiderate people, who left mounds of pizza boxes, bin bags full of rubbish and glass everywhere.

I completed my early (socially distancing, non-heavy breathing) run the other morning. These fantastic people were working hard to clear the mounds of rubbish.

I shouted a big thank you as I passed, and dedicated my clap to them this week. As a fellow key worker I recognise what a contribution they are making.

I would propose a picnic tax for all those heading to the Heath during this time. These funds could pay for treats or extra staff to complete the excess tasks they need to undertake now.

Thank you City of London Corporation and your great team.
