A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of a man requiring medical assistance at an address in Hampstead, north London.
“Officers attended The Alliance, NW6, with London Ambulance Service at around 19:14hrs on Wednesday, 13 November and found a man that had appeared to have had a cardiac arrest.
“Paramedics administered CPR to the 55-year-old man but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have yet to be informed.
“Police cordons that were put in place have now been removed.
“Police say the death is not suspicious but would like to hear from anyone who may have information which may help. Please call 101 ref CAD 6870/13Nov.”
Azi Hashemi from Smart Dry Cleaners on Mill Lane told the New Journal: “Several police vans they came and they stopped here lots of them have interviewed different buildings. They haven’t said anything to me. I don’t know what happened.”
Alex Gunzage, a bar tender at The Alliance pub, said: “Last night we had two customers who came in because they live close to where the place is they thought someone had been run over by a car and when they walked past a guy was being resuscitated. When we finished last night (Wednesday) there were a few officers in white overalls walking around. When I came in earlier today at 10 they had a forensics team so I thought the person didn’t make it.”
A resident said she saw a person being resuscitated on the road on Wednesday evening. The woman, who asked not to be named said: “There was a small cordon of a very small area. Everything was open you can still go up to the hill and get back down with your dog. The ambulances were flying everywhere and there were lots of police.
“But the officer i was speaking to today said they had to broaden the cordon because they found more potential crime scenes. Not it’s a massive area. It’s a quiet, peaceful place so I was surprised. I’m always around with my dog at night because it feels safe.”
