• CAMDEN Council staff are to be praised in their speedy repairs to street furniture in Gospel Oak.

This (pictured above) is the third incident of damage within almost as many weeks in my locality. It was repaired the very next day as were the previous two incidents.

The culprits are often huge construction lorries negotiating our narrow streets. Alas such incidents are increasingly common as more and more of the borough is turned into a building site and we are yet to experience the full weight of HS2.

The cost, I understand, can be met out of revenue from parking fines, about £28million per year in Camden. However, I hope residents will report the culprits to the council and that officers will seek to get the costs of repair reimbursed.
