ARSENAL Ladies manager Shelley Kerr praised her “magnificent” squad after they beat Bristol Academy on Sunday to win the FA Women’s Cup.
The reigning Super League champions (pictured) opened the scoring inside two minutes at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium when captain Steph Houghton headed in a left-wing cross from Rachel Yankey.
Late goals from player-of-the-match Jordan Nobbs and Ellen White put the finishing touches on a convincing 3-0 victory.
Reflecting on the club’s latest silverware success, and her first as gaffer since taking over from Laura Harvey in February, Kerr beamed: “I thought the girls were absolutely magnificent. In terms of winning the 39th trophy it’s so important for this club to continue to win and I’m extremely delighted for the girls and everyone connected with the club.”
