A NEW era at Arsenal Ladies is finally under way after Spanish coach Pedro Martinez Losa officially took charge of the first team on Monday.

The 38-year-old, who was assistant coach of Western New York Flash in the USA National Women’s Soccer League, will be looking to take advantage of a break in the Gunners’ fixtures this weekend and get to know his new squad.

His first game in charge will be on Saturday (September 20) when Arsenal travel to Stoke Gifford Stadium to take on Bristol Academy Ladies. They will be hoping to gain revenge over the Vixens having lost the reverse fixture 2-0 in May (pictured above before the game).

On looking at the challenges that lie ahead, Losa said, “The team has a great history and I will do my best to add to it during my time in charge.”
