PEDRO Martinez Losa says he wants his Arsenal Ladies side to take “first position” in the Women’s Super League “as soon as possible” and heap the pressure on current leaders Chelsea.

The Gunners moved second in the table on Sunday after Chioma Ubogagu’s composed strike just before the hour mark secured a 1-0 victory against Birmingham City at the Autotech Stadium.

They are now just two points behind their London rivals, who lost 4-0 away at Sunderland.

“We’re putting pressure on Chelsea, who have a difficult game against Manchester City, and have to play in the FA Cup,” said Losa. “It’s going to be difficult for us but it’s going to be difficult for them too.

“We’re hoping we can keep winning so we can be in the first position as soon as possible.”

Arsenal Ladies take on Notts County this Sunday at Meadow Park, and Losa is predicting another tough game. He said: “They are, with Liverpool, one of the most uncomfortable teams to play against because they are tough, aggressive and organised.

“They make your game very difficult and play at a very high intensity. We suffered in the first game and this time around will be similar.

“They’ve got very competitive players who are good in the style that they play, so it will be a big challenge.”

Tickets for the 2pm kick-off are available on the gate on Sunday, £6 for adults and £3 concessions.
