• A HUGE thank you to outgoing Fortune Green councillor Lorna Russell for her work in the area over the last few years as she steps down for pastures new.

I had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of years ago at a meeting in her capacity as chair of Sidings Community Centre in West Hampstead.

I have been impressed with the work she’s done to keep the centre going throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, including by giving them support to set up a food bank to help people during a time of absolute need.

She’s been a very visible and active councillor in the West Hampstead area and I can only hope her successors here take note. They have big shoes to fill.

Best of luck for the future Lorna. I hope you are elected again in your new seat.
