CRICKETERS from St Aloysius School put on a first class display at Lord’s when they won an inter-borough competition in front of cricket legend and MCC president Mike Gatting.
The British Land Kids Cricket Inclusive League is in its second year and has seen 29 teams from across London enjoy top- class coaching for the past 10 weeks. Finals day brought together seven league finals winners, including St Aloysius of Aldenham Street and New End Primary of Hampstead, at Lord’s MCC indoor centre.
After a day of competition, St Aloysius and St Saviour’s from Westminster made it through to the final, with the Camden school emerging victorious.
The league is a venture between British Land and charity Capital Kids Cricket and aims to increase children’s self-confidence, listening skills and focus.
Chris Grigg, CEO of British Land said: “Watching the Inclusive League final today reminds us that sport has the ability to inspire excitement, teamwork and confidence. It is evident that all young people can learn through sports and the Inclusive League is an opportunity to bring those skills and the spirit of cricket directly into schools, and beyond that into everyday life.”
