Looks like dirty tricks
Thursday, 15th July 2021
• CAMDEN has no business interfering in the politics or medicine of the pandemic and I would like to know why they are spending a fortune going door-to-door asking if residents have been vaccinated.
Those who are involved know the answer. The crisis may have hit them financially.
In this case, they should not waste their money (our money) on this nonsense and then attempt to recuperate with what looks like dirty tricks from another department.
Readers may remember my letter (What if we don’t want to pay by credit card? July 1), in which I criticise them for using an expensive way to pay and refusing all other methods. I simply put the money owed into their council tax account.
Since then I have received a letter saying that the money will be returned and that I am therefore still owing. This means that, at the end of the month, I will be liable for a fine of £250. Maybe that is the object of their ludicrous tomfoolery.
This will be subject to a formal complaint but, as some people will remember, that department is worth less than a chocolate teapot.
There is an election in a bit more than nine months. Many may well be asking: “Will no one rid us of these turbulent priests?”
