Look who is flyposting now

• THE latest of council tax funding in Gospel Oak is council flyposting.

Many of the notices refer to services being provided by the council.

Their timing is, of course, totally unrelated to the forthcoming local elections.

It is not so long ago that the council prosecuted firms for flyposting without planning permission.

Are these council posters exempt from such permission or is it not required?

Let me not quibble, at least the attempt is being made to communicate with residents.

However money spent on lavish posters could have been used elsewhere.

For example, for the unrepaired damage to a community centre which, as the CNJ reported last week, was forced to close because of having to pay £50,000 rent a year rent to the council.

I believe the phrase is “all fur coat and no knickers”.

Or fancy posters and high council rents come before voluntary services and the safety of residents.
