Look what’s planned here

• I AM one of the residents on Carrol and Sanderson Close Estate, off Highgate Road, and last Thursday night we were given a tour of the yard and shown a scaled model of what is planned over the next 10 years.
As well as three 19-storey tower blocks for social housing, there will be a large number of tall office blocks.
The original plans were drawn up before the global Covid-19 pandemic, but there seems to be no indication that they will review these plans in light of people now working from home, or about the adverse effects of living in high-rise blocks including social isolation, mental health problems, and lack of community. As well as the safety issues.
We also face 10 years of disruption from building works, from noise, dust, etc.
A Camden Council Equalities Impact Assessment report states that our estate will experience more disruption from noise, dust, etc from the Murphy’s Yard and Regis Road developments than any other part of the borough.
This is deemed acceptable because it will benefit the rest of Kentish Town. I am writing to you as I think more people should know what is being planned for this area.
Obviously some of it will be positive. But let’s make sure we have our say.
