Look for the way ahead on the buses
Thursday, 21st June 2018
• WHILE I share Camden Liberal Democrat councillor Flick Rea’s frustrations at bus service reductions and at the absence of any consultation, even more frustrating can be the farrago of consultation when the change is going to go ahead anyway, (Protest about the poor bus services, June 14).
London Buses are trying to save money against falling ticket sales when, conversely, frequent services tend to be fuller than infrequent ones.
There are other and cheaper ways for reducing journey times than increasing frequency. In particular, placing stops closer to points of demand and to facilitate quicker interchange where half a minute can mean missing a connection.
