Look at the government’s record…
Thursday, 9th January
• MARTIN Plaut defends Labour’s actions, (Labour has embarked on socialist policies, January 2).
None of the things he mentions has had the slightest impact on me or the general public.
What we are aware of is:
— Labour has taken winter fuel payments from all pensioners, causing hardship in some cases.
— Increased employers’ NI contributions, causing redundancies and price rises.
— Put inheritance tax on farms, wrecking the lives of smaller farmers.
— Abandoned its pledge to Waspis, women against state pension inequality.
— Pledged 1.5 million homes.
We can see the effect in Camden with the high-rises now planned for Bacton and West Kentish Town estates. They are not building homes, merely rabbit warrens to dump people in.
They are now planning to put VAT on private education. Taxing education?
The only private school I know has a majority of children with special needs who cannot get the education they need in the state system. Their parents struggle to pay the fees.
