HAMPSTEAD stretched their winning run in the London Two North-East Rugby League to seven games on Saturday with a 23-8 victory away at Woodford.

The visitors battled back from 8-0 down after struggling to come to terms early on with a pitch that had no markings.

A lovely interchange between winger Ben Fenhert and full-back Phil Carr ignited the Hampstead recovery as Carr set free to score under the posts. Damien Naughton converted to send Hampstead into the break 8-7 down.

Early in the second half a lovely move in the wide channel and deft hands from prop Pete Ward created space for Carr to score his second of the day, which Naughton converted.

Naughton went on to add a further three penalties to make the final score 23-8.
