• I WENT to Kentish Town Library the other day to pick up an Open House prospectus, as I often have in the past, and was met with locked doors and some information about how to use my library card – something I do not have – on a machine.

What happened to the friendliness and helpfulness one used to meet in libraries – and indeed one still meets in Haringey? Shame on you!
