• IT’S time to ask Camden Tories to show some decency, come clean, and stop the lies about the O2 Centre development planning application.

It’s not just hypocrisy (Sharon Hardwick’s letter February 3) that needs to be called out but the endemic lies that ooze out of the Tories from Boris Johnson down to the local Conservative candidates.

Yet another leaflet has been circulated, this time in Fortune Green, peddling lies and misrepresenting who is planning the O2 development.

Camden Tories know only too well that it is Landsec, one of the biggest commercial property developers in the country making this application.

So we face another private development of luxury flats from which Camden is negotiating the maximum affordable housing and community benefit.

Can I remind Camden Tories that going back to when Johnson was mayor, that it is their party over the past 12 years that has allowed massive luxury development to be built across London while at the same time depriving councils like Camden of funds to build desperately needed social housing?

It’s not difficult to conclude that the local Tory candidates are the same as the Tories in government.
