Let’s talk about defeating the Tory government

Jeremy Corbyn
• IT seems likely to me that the right-wing media have employed an army of people to trawl through reports of every meeting Jeremy Corbyn attended and every speech he ever gave to try to dig up anything that can be twisted into slur against his name – I’m sure they have also tried to discover evidence of economic impropriety, too, but failed to find any.
Corbyn’s special strengths are that he has never shown any interest in personal gain, he has fought tirelessly against racism, he has campaigned against every kind of violence for political ends, and he tells the truth.
I don’t believe that the main objectives of the accusations made against him are meant to stand up to close scrutiny – dancing at the Cenotaph, Czech spy, Russian stooge, terrorism supporter, anti-Semite.
Their purpose is to constantly barrage the man with innuendos to undermine his obvious strengths and weaken support for him because he represents a serious danger to the privileged élite in this country.
As a very long-term member of the Labour Party and now Momentum I recognise the pro and anti-Corbyn sides in the party both live in bubbles but I suggest that Phil Rosenberg makes more effort to meet and discuss with us the danger of an internal dispute over-coming our ability to win over the public to Labour’s ideas for defeating this awful government and to create a country for the many, not the few, (Momentum should side with the Jews over the racists, August 30).
