• THE current chair of Hampstead & Kilburn (Sir Keir Starmer suspended the socialist one) has just blamed the good weather for us losing the Fortune Green by-election.

Seriously. The good weather.

Presumably Liberal Democrats are less affected by the weather. Maybe they have sunglasses and all wear safari suits?

According to Sir Keir’s Labour, the Fortune Green defeat had nothing to do with Sir Keir, his candidate (a shortlist of one), his lack of principle, or the absence of policies.

Nope. Defeat was down to the weather. If only it had rained. Or snowed. Or blown a hurricane…

And a majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party support this madness. Labour (and I’ve been a member for 45 years), is becoming an embarrassment.

The weather is not an alternative to Boris Johnson.
