AS the song from the soundtrack goes, let’s hear it for the boys (and girls) from a Chalk Farm school, who have brought the 1980s hit musical Footloose back to the stage this week.

Students of all ages at Haverstock School in Haverstock Hill, took on the Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer film about a town where singing and dancing is outlawed, belting out their versions of numbers such as I’m Holding Out For A Hero, Somebody’s Eyes and the Kenny Loggins title track in front of friends, fellow students and parents for three nights in a row.

Year nine student Kamil Animashaun donned a leather jacket to play the leading man role of Ren McCormack, with Rina Jakupi starring as love interest, Ariel.
