‘Can pubs really not survive unless they’re rammed to the rafters?’

• AS we emerge blinking into the light after the long Covid sleep, is it possible we can at least consider giving each other a bit more space – not to avoid infecting each other, but just to make our lives a bit more pleasant?

Being on the tube without being crushed in the midst of a bunch of strangers was such a pleasure during the dark days of the past year. And can pubs really not survive unless they’re rammed to the rafters?
