• COINCIDENTALLY, prior to letters appearing about reopening the former station in Junction Road, Tufnell Park (Letters, March 9), I had written to London Overground with the same suggestion.

Overground’s replies said: “There are no plans to reopen the closed station as there are sufficient transport links in the area. For example, the Northern line serving Tufnell Park station.”

And: “I understand there is no direct interchange with the London Overground. However, the system is designed to provide maximum convenience to customers, and demand is also taken in to consideration. Furthermore, if customers wish to change over to the tube from Upper Holloway then Archway station on the Northern line is 10 minutes’ walk away.”

They clearly do not understand that from Tufnell Park it is a 15-minute walk to Gospel Oak station and 20 minutes to Upper Holloway station.

More campaigning is needed. How about an online petition?
