LDN COP: Save the date, we’re going to save the world!
We're hosting another free climate conference

AN OLD cinema in Camden Town will become a festival of discussion, debate and creativity about the climate crisis for our LDN COP next month.
Now in its third year, the LDN COP is our newspaper’s local take on the international climate negotiations that are so often mired in stalemates and indecision, or shaped by lobbyists for major polluting fossil fuel companies.
The alternative LDN COP will instead be a chance to talk, listen, watch and learn about how climate interacts with housing, the cost of living, the right to protest, the nature around us. We will hear from veteran activist Roger Hallam, housing campaigner Kwajo Tweneboa, musician and artist Louis VI, air quality campaigner Rosamund Kissi-Debra and many more.
The day will include a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing documentary, followed by a participatory discussion facilitated by Joanna Macrae OBE. There will also be a screening of Josh Appignanesi’s documentary Colossal Wreck, which takes us inside the real COP28 in Dubai three years ago, and asks whether these huge, slick conferences can have real impact, or are just full of false promises.
And not to mention our eco market, where you can browse for second-hand gems, print your own t-shirts and write letters to the future.
Get tickets for the LDN COP on Eventbrite now, and come along for free on November 28 at the Plaza, formerly the Odeon, in Parkway, Camden Town.
