WELTERWEIGHT Kian “The Technician” Thomas proved he’s ready at home and abroad on Saturday when he travelled to Spain to record his first knockout in the pro ranks. 

The 23-year-old former St Pancras ABC amateur was scheduled to go four three-minutes rounds against Manuel Oliva, but needed just the one as he knocked his opponent out within two minutes and 30 seconds of the opening bell in Benalmadena, southern Spain. 

“I stopped quite a few fighter in the junior and amateur ranks, but to get my first knockout as a professional is an amazing feeling,” said Kian, after knocking Oliva out cold with a vicious right uppercut. 

“In the paid ranks it’s lovely to know that you’ve got that power in your locker, just in case you ever need it!”
