Kids are losing out

• I AM a mother of two daughters, three years and four months.

My three-year old was taken to our local park by my mother, who is part of my support bubble, but the park was closed off with railings due to coronavirus.

My daughter did not understand why the things she used to love to do are now off limits.

Now I understand we are in a pandemic in which hundreds of thousands of people are dying but there will be more deaths, and more damage in the long run to children’s mental health, and people in general, if the government and Camden continue to restrict normal life.

It is not fair that my daughter came home crying because the council decided to close her local playground, considering she lives in a one-bed apartment which has no outdoor area.

I just hope the government do better. I just wanted to highlight the impact lockdown is having on innocent kids.
