KICKBOXING champion Audifax “The Stinger” Kinga has revealed that he has delayed his return to the ring because he has been “too busy passing on his passion”.
The light-middleweight, who lives in Kentish Town, was expecting to have already defended the ISKA European title that he won last year by beating Mikey Worswick in a one-sided encounter at the Circus Tavern in Essex.
But the 35-year-old, who is an instructor at Springhealth Kickboxing Gym in Holloway, admitted that he’s been enjoying teaching so much over the summer that he’s had to postponed his next fight until November.
“Kickboxing has given me so much over the years, so to be there when people are taking their first steps within the sport is very special for me,” said the second-dan black belt.
“I know exactly where it could lead, although if you had told me when I first started I would win world and European titles, I wouldn’t have believed you. Obviously not everyone who steps into our gym wants to be a fighter,” Audi added.
“It is just as rewarding when you help support someone live a happier and healthier lifestyle.
“We have put some great fitness programmes together, your readers should come down and check them out!”
A new beginners’ class is now running at Springhealth on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15pm, and Saturdays at 2pm. Call 020 7700 3633 for more details.
