Keats Community Library – 10 years on…

Thursday, 14th April 2022

• THIS week Keats Community Library will have been operating as volunteer-run for 10 years.

After hearing Camden Council planned to close Heath Library, we formed a committee to take it on, encountering some people who thought it could not be done. But here we are, thriving, thanks to 40 or so volunteers who, with our apprentice, keep it open 42 hours a week.

Thanks to the many local library lovers and businesses who support us financially, as well as everyone who participates in the Hampstead Summer Festival, a mainstay of our income.

Thanks, too, to the busy authors, actors and musicians who give their time to present talks and shows in the evenings, contributing to the aim to be a local cultural hub.

And, finally, to the CNJ for unfailing support over 10 years. The library is a lively and happy place and we strive to continue to be of service to our public.
