KARATE kids from the Veras Academy were all smiles after snapping up a mighty medal haul at the Wado UK East Yorkshire Open Championships, which were held in Hull on Sunday. 

Made up of top martial artists from across Camden and Islington, the super squad, which included members as young as six years old, returned home with five golds, three silvers and three bronze medals.

A delighted Sensei Raphael Veras said: “I’m really proud of each and every team member, they all did brilliantly.”
