Just get all the road works done!

Thursday, 7th November 2024

• THE Parkway and Camden High Street road junction has had barriers positioned to narrow the width of the road to one lane and temporary traffic lights in place for several weeks. But at no time have any workers been present anywhere near the vicinity.

This supposed road works affects the traffic flow to both Camden High Street and Parkway, with tailbacks extending the length of Parkway and beyond.

Apart from the frustration felt by drivers, it must be costing an absolute fortune in lost time, wasted fuel and pollution. If only this was an isolated example.

Where road works cause major disruption to traffic, why are contractors not forced to work round the clock to complete the work instead of leaving sites unoccupied for days on end?

Given the number of road works in Camden alone, to say nothing of the rest of London, councils and the government must act now to do something.
