Prime minister Boris Johnson

• BORIS Johnson’s so-called deal is a hard Brexit that will leave our country poorer, weaker and with fewer opportunities for younger generations.

It is not a “deal”. We are paying a divorce bill of £39billion without getting any trade agreement in return.

The planned-for trade deal will take years to negotiate and severely damage the economy. The government’s own figures say it will do even more harm than Theresa May’s proposals.

We won’t get the “exact same benefits” as European Union membership. That £350million a week for the National Health Service will never materialise.

Ending free movement altogether will harm our public services and deprive younger people of the opportunities older generations have taken for granted.

The proposals breach the Good Friday Agreement. Instead of one, frictionless, border there will instead be two new borders on the island of Ireland.

This is not the Brexit anyone was promised. Johnson isn’t “getting Brexit done” but is leaving us with many more years of uncertainty.

We need to stop Brexit, with a democratic mandate, and end the chaos for good. I hope that all those who want to stop Brexit will join me, the Liberal Democrats and thousands of Camden residents at the people’s vote march this Saturday.
