ARTIST Sheila Hicks, above, dropped into King’s Cross on Thursday to unveil a “sculpture in the air”.

Ms Hicks, born in 1934, is celebrated for her use of “distinctive colours, natural materials, and personal narratives”.

From the US, her work is held in private and public collections around the world.

In an interview with the New York Times she said: “I move from idea to finished work acrobatically – it’s as though I can feel the clouds shifting and the light coming and going.”

Her Woven Wonders installation is in Coal Drops Yard until October.
