• WE’RE living and working in some of the worst air in Europe. It’s good to learn of the practical measures Camden Council is putting in place.

In January it was the first borough to adopt the more stringent WHO guidelines and on March 12 Camden deployed a new environment enforcement team who will be able to issue on-the-spot fines for parked idlers.

We should all become informed and sign up to Camden’s Campaign For Clean Air which can be found on camden.gov.uk/airquality or on twitter #CleanAirCamden.

It is up to all of us to make changes – stopping idling while parked would be a very good start. We should favour public transport, walk or cycle and lobby authorities with fresh ideas and initiatives.
