It’s refreshing to have an MP put constituents first
Thursday, 9th February 2017
• HOW refreshing to read of an MP, Tulip Siddiq, who puts the views of the majority of the people she represents to the forefront when she votes in the Commons, even when it means she has to resign her shadow cabinet post.
As a resident of Chalk Farm I am sadly not one of her constituents but, instead, am represented by an MP who chooses to ignore the views of the majority of people who put him into parliament, in the deluded belief that he will be able in some way to bring the government to task re Brexit. I believe Tulip has received some abuse over her stand, but I would be very happy to have an MP who puts her constituents’ views above personal gain.
If more MPs had this mindset, can’t help thinking the Commons would be a finer place.
