It’s not just illegal e-scooters that are dangerous

E-scooter

‘This whole e-scooter enterprise is a complete and dangerous failure’

• I READ with interest and dismay Councillor Adam Harrison’s view that the problems with e-scooters are only with the illegal ones, (Search for e-scooter crash suspect as elderly woman is knocked over, November 4).

I was almost knocked down by a rider on a Dott rental e-scooter that was being driven the wrong way along Camden High Street, went through a red light at the crossing and then continued on the pavement.

I reported the rider to Dott and the police noting the e-scooter plate number and time. No reply has been received from either.

Cllr Harrison (and the London Cycling Campaign who support it) need to own up that this whole e-scooter enterprise is a complete and dangerous failure; not just in Camden but nationwide.

Yet they still choose to ignore consultations on all manner of subjects, not just this one. Would there perhaps be contract funding that plays a part in all of this?
