IT’S make or break time for Highgate Harriers.

Promotion into Division Two of the Southern Athletics League hangs on the tenterhooks of the final meet of the season next Saturday, August 10.

Currently lying in fourth place and with only the first four teams in the league being promoted, it is sure to be an exciting event at Parliament Hill Fields running track.

Highgate go into the fixture in optimistic mood with a number of the club’s athletes enjoying individual success.
Ryan McKinley recently came fifth in the GB trials for the 3000m steeplechase, while Sophia Parvizi-Wayne, 16, won a silver medal for England in the SIAB Schools International over 3,000m.

McKinley is urging athletics fans to come along a support the home team.

“Don’t be afraid to jump over the fence and come down onto the track,” he urged.

Events get underway at midday on August 10.
